This is the most complicated painting I have ever undertaken. Taxco Mexico is a beautiful
ancient city built on the side of steep hills. Homes are stacked like cardboard boxes with
a huge cathedral grabbing our attention in the square. This painting is 30 by 40 inches. I
have worked very hard to maintain some unity and harmony in a painting that divides your
attention in many directions. Although I have attempted to maintain a sense of depth,
I ignored many of the principles of atmospheric perspective. Design is very important is
this complexity. This will be one of 10 pieces in an upcoming joint show at the McKay
Art Centre in Unionville from September 17 to 21. Hope to see some of you there!
