This is a portion of a larger painting ( 48 x 36) based on a theme I have revisited many times.
Quite a few years ago I went on a journey around Haliburton with my daughter Angela, her
husband Doug, Doug's mother Marie, his sister Elizabeth and Sue. It was a studio Tour. Up
on a very steep hill was a home that didn't have electricity or running water. They grew their
own food. In the garden were the biggest sunflowers I ever saw. They were over 7 feet tall
with huge heads. This painting is a composition made of many of these flowers. A beautiful
experience. This is not complete but will be for the Durham West Studio Tour of April 22, 23rd!
