MONDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2012 "Family Day"

A good friend of mine, Ray McNeice, and I have been taking this course at the AGO
on developing a series of at least 5 pieces. The theme should develop. On a recent
trip to Mexico ( Puerta Vallarta) Sue and I spent many hours walking the beaches.
I was fascinated by the ebb and flow of the waves, the variety of height, force,
and differing phases. These powerful waves pulsate and smash forcibly against
the rocks. They inspire awe and sometimes fear. In this first piece, I played with
the variety of phases: build up, rolling power, backlash waves, foam tickling the beach,
and the beauty and stability of the rocks. Mostly acrylic with a bit of mixed media.
