As you can see this painting is still on the easel. This is
the block-in. I have always been attracted to rocks. There
shapes, forms, and textures are always challenging. In
this case I was attracted to their shapes and arrangement.
But, they were all the same type of rock, so it's time to
invent hue and texture. Which rocks get more definition and why?
As in previous Newfoundland scenes, the sky is also
a key feature or focal point. How will I move the eye
around the painting? That might influence which rocks
get more attention. Watch out for further development.
